नर्मदे हर !!
First and foremost my sincere pranam to the devotees doing parikrama on foot. The right way of doing parikrama is by foot, but I would term my parikrama as "Narmada Darshan". Improving on my spirituality was the main motto of my parikrama.
Me and my husband both belong to Jabalpur. I've always visited Jilheri ghat for Narmada pooja and to have my holy bath in narmada river. Narmada Parikrama was something that I wished to do long back. I did mentioned this wish of Narmada Parikama to my husband to which he was always supportive . The moment arrived for our Parikama on the ocassion of our 25th Wedding Aniversary.
I started with all the research, read books on Narmada Parikama, read blogs about it. The most helpful blog I came across was of Mr Chetan Shah, thanks to you sir for guiding us and providing all the knowledge. We also called for our driver and helper from my hometown Jabalpur, who accompanied us in our journey.
It is recommended to wear white clothes during the parikama but me and my husband both wore Khadi clothes throughout the journey, though not white but simple and plain clothes.
I would like to add that I had written my Narmada Parikama in hindi, but my daughter Shailja, translated all of my experiences and helped me pen down my journey of Narmada Parikama in this blog.

Before I begin sharing my experiences about my Narmada Parikrama, I would like to list down some useful books and blogs which helped and guided me for my journey and which one should definitely refer to if planning for the Narmada Parikrama.
- 1) "My Travel Experiences " which is a blog by Mr Chetan Shah.
- 2) "Narmade Har | Har Narmade" which is a book written by Shri Shuashji Limaye
- 3) "Narmada Parikrana - Margdarshika " by Swami Atmakrushna Narashewar.
We ( myself and my husband) completed the journey of Narmada Parikrama by car ( Toyota Innova ). We were accompanied by a driver ( Anil Burman ) and helper ( Golu Burman ). Being the residents of Mumbai we started our Narmada Parikrama from Nareshwar
( Gujrat ) since it was the closest destination for us to begin our Parikrama.
